That was a trap, bro. You just blindly followed an impulse!
You wanted to learn more about the topic and followed the link without thinking about it.
Learning something new is a good thing. But what would have happend if you would have ended up on Wikipedia, or YouTube? Those sites are designed to grab your attention and keep it for as long as they can. You need to get better at catching impulses before you follow them. Impulses lead you away from the thing you are focussing on. These are distractions. Things that pop into your mind so you can procrastinate to do the thing you actually would need to do.
So whenever you feel an impulse. Catch it. And resist it. With self discipline.
Whenever you feel the impulse to click on a link and learn more, to check your inbox, to check social media. Resist it. Do it more intentionally. Do it on schedule. Don’t be a slave to your impulses. Do it with discipline.
Stay strong,
Alex
